We focus on teams with a founder or leader who identifies as African, the African Diaspora, and/or New American. We prioritize teams that are gender-balanced, which we define as having at least one female founder / member of the leadership team.

Companies with community at the core and increasing access in mind, produce outsized returns. We are obsessed with start-ups that strive to make a meaningful impact – whether it be social, wellbeing, economic, environmental, or cultural.

Who We Invest In
New americans &
the african diaspora
We seek teams with a founder or leader who identifies as African, the African Diaspora, and/or New American. Our definition of New American is a person whose parents or grandparents immigrated to the United States.
Pre-seed to
series a
We invest in teams raising pre-seed, seed, and Series A rounds. We target 5% ownership in Pre-Seed, Seed, and Series A tech-enabled companies based in Sub-Saharan Africa with an average check size of up to $500k. We may invest opportunistically in later stage rounds.
Across various
industries
We are industry agnostic, with a preference for companies that build highly scalable solutions at the protocol layer and address key infrastructural challenges. E.g., fintech, SaaS, healthcare, and marketplaces.
